In January 2024, Audio-Technica launched the "LAB M50x" website, inviting fans to participate in creating limited-edition headphone models by submitting their own color designs. Thousands of fans shared their designs using #MyM50x2024, and an expert panel selected three finalists from 14,560 submissions. The winning design, chosen by 3,127 fan votes on social media, was submitted by Sergio Gamarra, a DJ from Bolivia.
When Speaking about his chosen color selections, Sergio said: “First, blue represents confidence, reflecting the quality and reliability of the M50x headset. Orange evokes energy and creativity, highlighting the excitement of the music in us. Finally, gray adds a sense of sophistication and elegance, balancing the color palette and adding a touch of modernity.”
The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x LAB and ATH-M50xBT2 LAB are available now in limited quantities at Audio46.
