GhostFit,

Do you have a shot of the Golds? I am torn between the two.

Cheers,

Wormwood

Unfortunately, no.

Gold was my first choice but since I'm buying locally, there was only the choice of Black, White, Blue and Red for both CKM500 and CKM300.
...guess you now know which were my 2nd and 3rd choice colors !

for those who have the ckm500 in white AND another color, do you find difference in sound with the white/clear eartips and the black ones??

The stock tips should seriously be replaced with the Meelec tips either way. No joke, comparing the two, the Meelec tips are definitely the way to go. These sound a whole level better with the Meelec tips. The stock tips with their narrow bore really constrict the sound. No comfort is lost either with the right fitting Meelec tips. Its just a win win.

i already have some meelec tips. but still i´d like to know if there´s a difference in the stock ones, so i change the color in my order

Sorry, i dont know the answer to that, but i doubt there is a difference. Silicone can be made in different colors in the same consistency.

CKM500 Mini-review
Hours burned : 50+
Music Used: One of everything, Dance, Rock, R&B, and Rap.

Rock - Beatles, nowhere man

R&B - Ray Charles - What I'd Say

Dance - Black Box- Everybody

Rap - Choice is Yours- Black Sheep

With these songs used, the ckm500 is PERFECT. I still need to test the ckm500s with the trance and orchestra library I have in my desktop, I did listen to the ckm500s with these songs and a bit more in the dance and rock area. I've got to say that the spaciousness of it is similar to the cks77s but a bit on the weaker side. The female vocals and the male are airy, and somewhat articulate even with the thickness on them. With the Nowhere Man song, it is to die for, the group sound like angels singing the song with transparent voices, as well as the life of the instruments coming along. Guitars sound crunchy and full, drums sound detailed but a bit too much for me as I feel that real drums may not sound so strong, the cymbals were a bit weak here though. The tips that the ck10 came with definately controls the clashes as I barely heard it in this recording. Decay on this earphone is better than I expected, nothing sounded grainy at all. I was expecting the bass to be a bit strong as well, but it was controlled thanks to the tips. The quality of the bass did do a bit good with the tips, but still feels as though it can sound better.

Ray Charles has made me think he was singing right next to my ears!! The voice was so lifelike, fluid, and definately natural imo. The piano though...wasn't what I heard in the beginning, didn't sound like it, i might have to revisit this and update it when I can, at the moment this instrument didn't come out to me in the beginning, I thought it was a guitar :S, later I heard the piano sounds. Maybe I just don't hear too much of the piano side of music lol. Guitars were once again great and full, some rich detail here. I think the tips barely helped the soundstage in this regard, but I will have to switch the ck10s with the stock tips that came with the ckm500s to make sure. I do know is that the voices sound a little less thicker, a bit more smoother than I'd like it to be with the ck10 tips.

Black Box, Everybody
HECK I LOVE THIS SONG, I've heard it before but it isn't something I knew about till 2 days ago. I'll say that the staging was decent at best, it wasn't what I hoped for. It did sound more 3D with this recording however, the man in "pain" definately kept me awake and asleep at the same time, the females did very good here.

The choice is yours
Not bad, I don't really hate this band as it does have a good rhythm, the same thing can be said as the previous songs I used, but the bass definately wasn't weak nor strong but controlled. It was bass that got tightened by the small holes in the ck10s! However, I didn't do much burn-in yet I think, I still have more to go in order to fully tighten up the bass, will update soon on this part.

Will review the cks77s tomorrow, I can't believe I couldn't even review the rest yet. But one thing at a time!

Which tips have you tried?

@jasonb

I used the ath co10 stock tips, large size. The nozzle is very small, like some mo.ster tips and other brands. It has a very tiny bore.

I have a white pair w/clear tips and silver pair w/black tips and as much as I tried to see if there was a difference, I don't believe there is.  They both do sound the same.

Have you tried any large bore tips? Like the Meelec tips?

Not yet, I don't have large bore tips in my collection, ckm77's tips might come a bit close to the meelec tips but I think it's the same as the ckm500 tips. I will get the meleec in friday, then I'll update the mini review :3, thanks for asking. Don't have any other tips in my collection other than the monster ones, but they're also the same as the ck10s, the ckm77's and cks77's tips are what I have, including the ckm500 and ck10s.
