Was looking for one of these threads. Glad there is one.

Airy, vast, open soundstage. Not to mention that female vocals are plain awesome with these. Bjork especially.

GO TEAM AD700. WHOO!

I've heard no sibilance with my cans. I've had them for a year now and used them with various DAPs. Never heard sibilance with any of them.

I do recall that there were one chap here who also some experienced sibliance.
I think burn in resolved the issue for him. It's also largely dependent on the source & the recording as well.

I can't believe I have missed this thread. I was just about to make a ad700 appreciation thread when I saw it.

And like a previous user stated it was also my gateway drug lol. Too bad I only use them for gaming now (wont get rid of them, I just cant bring myself to sell these for under $100)

I was appalled at the unappreciative attitude of a person trying to get a pair for ~$50 when 100 is a steal.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people would pay $250 for these. I've heard from some people saying that they prefer it over any headphone $350 and under (I am in no way agreeing with that as I have much better headphones (HFI-780) that I got for 170 shipped).

(Those 780s better be a jillion times better than proline 750s because if not, even those don't stand a chance)

The weird thing about the sibilance... I noticed it when I first got my cans. Like, I loved them to death, even more than my HD-555 (current baby), but I did notice the sibilance, which I figured would fade with burn-in. And it did. But then I let them sit for a few months as I was doing different things, mostly using speakers for listening, then later getting a pair of Grados. And when I put them back on, I notice it again. Granted, I was listening to the new Kelly Clarkson, which was probably mastered badly (hey, no hating). But now, 3 CDs in and it seems to have gone away. o_O So maybe it's something you just get used to?

*Poke* If it is the same time where you are as it is here, I'm not surprised. Lol.
