Another fellow enthusiast / cable builder recently completed 2 sets, 1 for his sp1k w/ amp

for my jp1 x 240. The hyper short adapter will be used for the DX229 w/c is 3.5 SE only...

Does anyone know of a right angled 2.5 balanced plug? I have a cable for my Shure SE585, that terminates to a 2.5 straight balance plug and works fine with my 240. My only concern is, the already fragile 2.5 configuration, made even more fragile, with the straight plug sticking out of the balanced jack almost an inch.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I wasn't clear but what I want is a right angled balanced 2.5 (Plug or Adapter) so, the signal will remain balanced, not to convert balanced to single ended.

Please PM them. They do accept custom work...

That makes sense for a DX220.. But I can't see why someone will want one to work with their AK240. The AK240 already has a 3.5 SE socket so one doesn't need an adapter..

Forget all this crazy price custom stuff, just get a normal one:

https://www.amazon.com/Kenable-2-5mm-Socket-Right-Adapter/dp/B00KQUYK82

This 2.5mm jack seems to be for mic use. Do note that the AK 2.5mm jack has no ground and the pole layout will be different.

The 3.5mm is single ended and you can't convert it to balanced and might even short your device.

It's a straight-through 4-pole to 4-pole adapter.

That's what I find puzzling.. People see it labelled as for " headphones with mic" and think it's not for them.. therefore they have to go out and spend £100 for the same thing that someone has labelled as "for audiophile, balanced headphones" .

Every pole on the socket will appear in the same place at the output of the adapter and it doesn't matter how it is marketed.

The other adapter is likely safe as it will just miss out one pole - so either it will work or one channel wont come through. One can check by looking at the terminal arrangement of headphones with mics - that mic pole will be removed.

... Like what I was saying from yesterday...

I'll just continue to use my Shure SE585 with the Balanced Cable I have. The original goal was to limit the possible stress from lateral movement, the straight 2.5 balanced plug puts on the balanced 2.5 jack. Thanks for the suggestions.
