I haven't had time to complete a comprehensive review, but the Rx is in the Head-Fi Summer Gift Guide: http://www.head-fi.org/a/head-fi-buying-guide-portable-amps-dacs-daps-page-2

@Currawong, nice description in the buying guide, echoes what I hear. It also pairs well with the cleaner sounding X5ii.

yes ditto that, very nice write up, your WAY better at it then me, more direct and to a point,

I think this shy wittle unasuming puppy is going to be a GREAT BIG contender! Ken has not just blown this one out of the ballpark, but left it behind in the dust! needless to say I am very very happy with the Rx, and I do enjoy my ear time with the Rx!

the detail, the clearity, the openess, the spaciousness, and the happiness/smile it puts on my face!

tanks, rumble, rumble, rumble, Ken, well they do, lol,

Got mine yesterday, late.  Only tried it with my lo-fi bookreader.  It turned that player into a silk-purse.  Today, real music with X5.
And it does give the Angies something to sing about.

Congrats UELong. How much do you need to turn the volume knob with the Angie's? Mine is fairly sensitive with Angie and I only turn it maybe an eighth of the total volume.

I started an impressions and discussion thread in the portable amps forums.

Tonight, I'll test it with some X5 goodness.  Let you know in the morn.
At least, the 5 won't turn off, kicking Angie in the.... anymore without ALO's protection.

Great! You should post in the new thread. :)

Hello,
I just have a question for guys at Alo.

Is there any difference between the RX Mixwave version for Japanese market and the Nickel version being sold on your website?

Thanks

Does anyone's Rx have an uneven discoloration on the upper and lower covers and what can be used to clean it?

The patina is normal but ALO recommends vinegar and says it will bring it back to looking like new. Haven't tried it on mine yet.

Though I find it incredulous that I have to clean them compared to my other ALO amps.
