Just a quick question regarding M6/9:
Could somebody please confirm my guess that the colour never changes when played different formats of streamed content (e.g. high res from amazon music app). Mine always stays blue.
I think I have read this somewhere....
Thanks!

Dear friend,

Were you playing the 48k or below files in the 3rd party app?

The below chart shows the meaning of the M9's indicator in different situations. (You can also turn off the indicator by going to Settings -> LED -> Brightness and setting it to off)

(Note: when playing the same song, it is normal that the LED indicator color may be different between using FiiO Music app and other 3rd-party apps.)

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I am playing a high res (e.g. 24/192) song in the amazon music app (version 16.5.2 from apkpure site). The song is streamed from the internet and not stored locally on the M9.
The amazon app tells me that the song is in 24/192, the device is able to play 24/192 and that the song is played at 24/192.
The LED of the M9 is blue and is always blue when playing a song stremed from the internet with the amazon music app regardless the actual format (16/44, 16/48, 24/48, 24/96 or 24/192).
Therefore my question.

Dear friend,

Did you check other 3rd party apps as well?

Best regards

What does Amazon App tell you? Resolution you can find by looking at the track details.

The music from amazon is encrypted in transit and decrypted by the amazon app on the M9. How would the M9 know what is inside the music stream until it is unpacked? Therefore, only Amazon App can tell you about the music stream.

Thanks for the explanation how the amazon app works.
I thought the LED represents what the DAC is doing, who should know what type of data stream he is converting, which is obviously not the case.

Dear friend,

The Amazon Music APP uses its own libOpenSLES library to play the music, and its samping rate information is not sent to the Framework layer. And the color of our control lamp is processed in the Framework layer. Since we have not received the samping rate information of the Amazon Music app, the default blue light is displayed.
From the log files, the 192k file is outputing in 192k actually.

Best regards

Thank you for the answer.
It seems the whole process from digital data to analog output is way more complicated as I thought. :L3000:

in addition to traveling with iem, i love to use the x7mkii as the line out source for my car stereo system as it sounds much better than using either the car's built in DAC or even the DAC in my car's upgraded mosconi electronics.

i can use the car's touchscreen if i set up in bluetooth, but then lose the benefit of your great sounding DAC.

is it possible, or could you please create a setting, so that the line out would stay active while connected via bluetooth to the car? then i could safely navigate on the large touchscreen and hear the beautiful sound of the DAC.

i think a lot of people would benefit from this functionality for the x7mklii and other DAPs.

Hi, you can connect the bluetooth with your car first, then you insert the LO, this time LO can normal output, and you can also control it by the car.
