The AK320 thread

I guess I mean that the 240 didn't work seamlessly with macs and was geared more toward pc's. With the ak120 you could just drag and drop files directly onto the internal and sdcards. When released I understood that it wasn't as easy with the 240, you needed software or something. I didn't reserch it well, just wanted to check.

What you mean is MacOS (not iOS).

All the AK players after the AK120 are based off an android platform and requires an Android File Transfer App to initiate a transfer.

A faster way of course is to plug the SD card direct to the Mac for transfer (though you cannot do the same to transfer to the internal storage).

Okay, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks. Guess I'll skip the 320 after all. Ugh, looked promising.

Eh, there are a couple programs that do exactly what you're looking for with the AK1X0ii/AK240/AK3X0 players.

Good to know. The reason i didn't do the 240 was that even at the introduction price when it was released at a meet, I still didn't want to spend that kind of money on something that wasn't really geared to my system. Still a problem. I may think about it but at just below $2000. I would feel stupid buying something that wasn't really made to fit in to what i have set up.

Has anyone experienced their Ak320 (or AK 3...) automatically selecting the balanced output while operating in SE mode? I do use both outputs independently but this error seems to be occurring more frequently, any ideas other than taking it up with seller? Cheers.

When playing in SE mode the sound will drop out and show that playback is now via Balanced mode. I thought this was a disc read problem, but it is the device automatically changing to balanced mode, with no phone inserted to that input - so, nothing plays through the phones that are connected to the SE output

So, I found a stuck pixel on the edge of the screen.   I e-mailed A&K customer support.   Will see how this gets handled.  It's not very noticeable, but at the same time $1,800 device should be nearly damn perfect.   Trying not to overreact.

How is the new AK320 or even the AK300 compare to the old AK240? Ak240 is more expensive at $2500+, so which one best to buy for the money?

Take the AK300, unless you can get the AK240 used at a very good price.

But the AK240 still better than the AK300 in terms for technical specs right? just not the price?

Not really.  The AKM4490 DAC is much more capable than the Cirrus Logic used in the AK240, plus you have much better accessories integration with the amp, ripper, and recorder.  The volume knob is much better too.
