The AK320 thread

How are you guys enjoying your players?

I am debating whether or not to go with the AK300 or the AK320 and it seems like the AK320 beats the AK300 in performance.

Also have you guys used the AK380 amplifier at all?  I'm curious to see the performance versus the the stock player for driving headphones and IEMs.

I went for AK320 because it comes with a free AK Amp promo. Otherwise I would have gotten the AK300.

I wish my shops had that promo as well.  Would make the decision a bit easier (in favor of the 320).

Have you compared the 300 to the 320?  Which one did you prefer?

I did not spend much time comparing. As far as I can tell the SQ is quite similar. If there are differences it is very subtle. Take note I only compared the balanced output. In contrast, I can easily tell the difference between Mojo and AK320/AK300. AK3l20 is much more relaxed while the Mojo feels a bit more resolving and focused. But I can definitely listen to AK320 longer than on my Mojo.

I liked how the AK300 looks like and is a bit lighter than AK320.

Interesting.  I also really like the color of the AK300.  I was leaning towards the AK300 since it costs half the price and your impressions have started to convince me maybe my instincts are right.

Out of interest, how much data are you transferring? As a comparison I get about 9 MB/s writing to Internal from a PC and about 6 MB/s to the External SD card.

It might be faster stopping and doing it via PC. It looks like it's going to take you 40 hours which is totally unreasonable.

~150 gb.

And yes, I'm tranferring directly from PC.

Seems to be faster ! Thanks for the feedback !

I just made a post on the AK380 thread regarding my impressions of the cooper AK380, Mojo and the AK300.
Here.......

I find the the sound on AK DAPS to be very good. The differences are there, but as you move up, the cost on AK players, for the difference's in sound quality are to high a price to pay. The AK300 is probably the best value of all, and to me this includes the new AK70.

Hi,

I'm new here and i would like on honest opinion of the following:

Considering which to buy, the AK240 or the AK320 both i can get new for the same price here in Hong Kong.
I want to combine this with a pair of Audeze LCD-XC cans
Im only interested to play FLAC files up to 24/192

Im getting really indecisive to buy the AK240 or the AK320 with the dedicated amp.

The more i read the more confused i an getting, would really appreciate some help guys.

I can't seem to find any decent review that compare to 2 units.

Regards
Darren

Ive just seen photos of the AK320 in the amp and i really don't like the mismatch of the docking, considering an AK240 that i can get at the same price, what do you think ?

At first, I hate the mismatch in Color. But it grew on me. It just looked like a DAP with 2-tone color.

Just use a case for the stack and the mismatch will not be obvious.

I have the amp with the player even when using IEMs on high gain balanced as it just sounds much better compared to running it from the player alone.

Very happy owner of AK320. Compared both the 300 and the 320, and chose the latter. The 320 sounds more brighter, wider, and sparkly in my ears. Love it especially with Kaiser. I also own an IE800 but it sounds a bit dull and the mid range is too much v-shaped sound.

Congrats.  I recently made the choice to go with the AK320 as well (had an awesome awesome deal).  May I ask why you liked the 320 more?

Still waiting for mine to come in though.
