The A900 is in the $200 range not $100.

It's just one opinion that the SR125's the best hundred dollar can. Heck, there's plenty of people who gave the Sony V150's 5 stars on amazon.com Do some searches on sub-hundred dollar headphones it that's your budget. There are tons of threads and you can read up on what matches your tastes and needs.

WOW, what an incendiary title for a thread.

Not a bad comparison for a "non-musical can" and the A900 has a fairly large statistical sample on this site. Eight evaluations for the A900 and ten for the HD650. The A900LTD has only one evaluation and this is not statistically meaningful.

The A900 is great with music, and costs $189 from audiocubes.

The SR125 is by no means a consensus choice for best can in this range - it gets a lot of criticism for being too bright. Alessandro MS1 and Sennheiser HD555 are the usual winners. The Audio Technica A500 and Sony SA1000 are also worth considering.

If you have a good amp, the AKG K501 for $129 is a real step up - it used to retail for over $200, and is really quite hi-fi for the price. HD 580 is another great value at ~$160.
