To me, the 497s sound a bit dry in the midrange. But given the relatively low price of the 497s, that flaw is easily forgiven.

But the hip kids around town actually seem to dig the grado/alessandro "DJs" - they say things like "dude where'd you get those old school DJs?" - i even had one person come up to me and ask "are those grados?" but i was never lambasted by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, so I take that as a plus. HAVE NO SHAME, BRETHEREN!

by the way, you are considered the ultimate in cool if you walk around with your black grado cans slung around your neck. take it from me. much more hip than ipod white buds.
