See? This time I said DAP, not iPod! What are the five longest single tracks that you have saved on your portable rig? No fair to say "My Rio is Gapless, so my one track is an entire Verdi Opera!" You know what I mean!

Anyhow, it surprised me what was #1...and that I might actually pop this track on and just groove for that long when I'm out and about!

    Touch Me 2000 41:52Cathy Dennis
    Elegia (Full Version)17:31New Order
What Is this Thing 15:50Charlie Parker
Enjoy the Silence (Quad Mix)15:25Depeche Mode
    My Funny Valentine15:03Miles Davis

mike oldfield - amarok. clocks in at 60:04.
while i have several two-track lps digitized on my iriver (oldfield's tubular bells and jethro tull's thick as a brick come to mind), amarok is the only one-track cd that i have on the dap. one gapless swirling "movement" from teeth brushing to margaret thatcher tap-dancing.

i won't put it on the shuffle, though [IMG]

David Sylvian, "Approaching Silence" at 38:17

    Followed closely by:

David Sylvian, "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" at 32:38

    It then drops off to:

Dream Theater, "This Dying Soul" at 11:27

Interesting question. I'll have to search my music drive when I get home since I've only got a 30GB subset of my music on my DAP [IMG]

Providence by Godspeed You! Black Emperor at 29:02
    DJed by Tortoise at 20:57
If You Could See Me Now (Live) by Jaco Pastorius 18:28
Why (What's Goin On?) by The Roots 16:40
    Eskimo by Damien Rice 16:06

I could have just chose Godspeed and Silver Mt. for all of them, but there's no fun in that.

Going from what's on my computer, and my memory as to what's on the DAP:

18:36 Dazed and Confused -- Led Zeppelen -- BBC Sessions
    17:57 That was a Crazy Game of Poker -- O.A.R. -- 34th &8th (live)
16:23 Gypsy Woman -- Martin Sexton -- Live Wide Open
15:42 St. Robinson in His Caddilac Dream -- Counting Crows -- Desert Life
14:23 Free Bird (Live) -- Lynryd Skynyrd -- Greatest Hits
13:56 Human -- Flynn -- Let The Show Begin

That's skipping the 12 episodes of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy radio show that are still on my DAP from a road trip.
  13. Garbz
Philip Glass - Music with Changing parts 61:39

Well, I have a lot of long tracks on my X5...so I added some restrictions, namely no repeat artists and only tracks which actually occur on the CD as a single track.

    62:08 Vladislav Delay - Anima
60:22 Acid Mothers Temple - Pink Lady Lemonade (You're So Sweet)
56:30 Steve Reich - Music For 18 Musicians (original 1974 ECM recording)
40:05 The Orb - Blue Room (single version)
35:33 Nobukazu Takemura - Souvenir in Chicago

And then a lot more around the half-hour mark...
