Ultrasonic ringtones test

Test your own hearing 30 Hz to 16 KHz

This ones cool because it goes the lower end too which tests your cans more than your ears, 45 Hz sounded really deep, however 30 Hz was almost silent.

But most of all, test your sound card with this. If you have a bad sound card, you'll hear it no matter how bad your hearing is.

Edit: Unless you're deaf or near deaf.

Take my onboard sound for example. I doubt it plays anything below 100 Hz, so all sounds deeper than that just sound like 100 Hz. I can easily hear it.

Weird, for me the 19.9k sounds lower than 18.8k and the 21.1k sounds lower than 19.9k???

Can't hear a thing with 22.4k...

EDIT: hmmm... i used the thing on the second link to set my eq and it sounds kinda cool...

As long as it's a well recorded MP3 it shouldn't matter?

Same here. I think it's lower-order harmonics of the sound - you're not hearing the actual pitch. Something like that. I can definitely hear the 18.8k one, though. This is on my TBAAM -> KSC75.

Hmmm... I thought harmonic undertones are just theoretical?

Only really dealt with harmonic overtones that are integer multiple of the fundamental in classes and labs.

I would let a trained professional, ie doctor, do the test. They give you a report that's very interesting.

yea. my parent's friend was giving it out to everyone in my family a few years back. i was a college rebel and refused to go with the family.

this past wednesday, they were over for dinner and he brought up headphones.

"Er, I like headphones," i said.

He reply's, "So have you heard the K1000's yet? Any Stax? How about some electrostatic speakers?"

I thought for a second, gathered my thoughts, and out came the words, "Can I be your son?"

My dad wasn't too happy with this.

yea, guess who's going to his house for a hearing test?

According to the ringtone test I can't hear anything above 10kHz.

Or then again it could be caused by really bad onboard audio that goes practically silent on any sounds above 10kHz. Maybe M-Audio Audiophile USB will change this once it arrives.
