vandit:

what source are you going to be using? a PCDP?
what amp?

that money might be better spent upgrading your source if thats an option. sorry that i havent tried the Ted's cable to give you an opinion.

That must be a serious cable. more than I might pay. Just wondering what you are using source and amp. I compared a Homemade Homegrown with switchcraft connectors to the Headroom $20 cable. The Homegrown was slightly, I mean slightly.

sorry, not quite sure I understand you. I need a mini to mini cable to connect a PCDP or MP3 player to a portable headphone amp. Markertek offers two kinds of these, one is "regular" the other is "balanced stereo" - I am unsure what the difference is. can you clarify?

I am also reading about how to DIY cables in the threads here but for the sake of getting some decent cables quick, Markertek seems to have a good fairly cheap cables compared to Headroom's which appear overpriced.

The Markertek's are nice cables. Really, really nice for the money. Search the archives to find others opinion of them.

The difference between the standard Markertek and the Balanced is this:

The standard is a MONO cable. Most definitely NOT what you want to connect your PCDP/source to your amp--unless you want to only hear music from one side of your headphones.

The Balanced Stereo is just that--Stereo. And, naturally this is the one you want. Make sure you specify the difference if you order one from Markertek.

dude... don't even think about buying that thing. you can get neutrik mini plugs + enough silver/teflon wire for 1ft for much less than $20 in materials (not counting shipping.) i dunno how much JMT would charge... but i'm sure he would give it to you for 1/2 that outrageous cable, and you'd get as good a cable as anyone would have. ...or heck, i can make you one for a price too.
