Okay, I'm enjoying my new HD-650's (with Zu cables and HR-2 amp.) and still love my HD-600's. I'm now looking at an Alessandro MS-2. Having no Grado experience, if I a buy a MS-2 am I going to:

A. Finally find Headphone Nirvana
B. Wonder why I didn't buy an RS-1
D. Rob a bank to finance a PS-1 from Todd (will they let me keep them in prison?)
C. Save the $299.00 and put it toward a tube headphone amp. and light my fire with the 650's and my AKG K1000's.

I'm not trolling or spoiling for a fight between Teams Grado and Sennheiser. I just don't want to limit myself to one headphone line. I do have an AKG 271 with Zu cable. One of the reason I've been partial to Sennheiser is the fact the I think cable upgrades do make a big difference.

Your headphones aren't the only thing you should worry about keeping if you're in prison...

I have owned the MS2 and now have the 650/Zu. The MS2 is in no way going to make you happy after using the HD650. This is not just about senn vs. grado sound, they are just not on the same level. If your going to go with the Grados I would save for the PS-1 from Todd. I have not heard them but if I got another pr. of Grados they would be the ones. I have also owned the RS-1, and HP1000 (HP2). I like the HD650 better than any of the Grados I've had. Of the Grados, the HP2 was my favorite.
If I was going to spend some money I would add a Singlepower tube amp to my HD650's if I was you.

check out the formal reviews....

zanth has written a great one comparing HP1, RS1 and PS1

and overall he concluded that they are all awesome in their own special way..... read that first ....

i think that the general concensus is that Allesandro series has a great sound, but a somewhat different one from the grado lines
