TDK BA200 Thread

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade from my Sony XBA-1, and my research has pointed me towards the BA200s (amongst others).  My major complaint about the XBA-1 is that it is lacking in the top end, making many things sound muffled to my ears (cymbals, voices, guitars, etc.).  I wouldn't call myself an analytical listener, but I definitely like the top end detail.  They are also a bit bass light, but that is a much smaller issue to me.

My question to those who have used BA200s, how would you describe the treble and bass?  My reference sound signature is the Sony MDR-7506, being flat with a leaning towards being bright (even if artificially so).  I'm not looking for something that bright, but its a good way for me to judge as I don't have experience with many other IEMs.  Also, how would you rate the comfort?

Other IEMs I'm considering are the GR07 and XBA-3, so if anyone can compare them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Is there a reason why the BA200 are suddenly so cheap? And suddenly available at Ross stores everywhere?

Did TDK release a new IEM or something?

Because I've been debating between the BA200, GR07 MK2, SE215, Westone 3, etc.... and I noticed that the BA200 are only $100 on Amazon... why so cheap suddenly? I'm a bit suspicious...

It's probably people who's trying to flip for profit. The same thing happened when Radioshack was selling the V-Moda M80 for $40.
