hey all
i'm trying to get more bass out of my newly acquired beyer dt250 80

i noticed that on the back of the velour pads, there is a layer of leather with many holes or indentations in it, like a kind of cheese texture. i'm wandering if taping the back of the pad to create a smoother surface would mean more bass. i'm kinda paranoid and believe that the holes are dispersing and lessening bass

i have tried doing it to one side and leaving the other side normal yet i can't seem to hear a difference.

can someone try this and tell me whether or not it changes the sq? its totally reversible as you are just putting tape on and off.

Don't mess with Beyer pads, in 95% of the cases it will sound worse than stock. I've given up such exeriments minths ago. Beyers are very weird in that respect.

What's wrong with EQing besides it's regarded as severe crime at this site?
