Pro 80 has a pretty high build quality, but Pro 82 is better.
And I like its looks much more, it looks more "premium".
Like usual it is in the eyes of the beholder. :) I like how pro80 looks like an expensive beyrdynamic headphone but to me pro82 looks like some cheapish Sony. Glad to hear those sound good. I am a big fan of pro80 and hi2050. And I'd love a comparison against b8. I have not heard b8 but I like B6 and B7 better than pro80/hi2050.

I also like how Pro 80 looks, it has a "I'm an audiophile/audio nerd" look.
Pro 82 has a more fashion/prestige look, to me they look more like Bang & Olufsen H6/H7 headphones.
That black color looks so premium, but is hard to get right in a photo. I'll try again in better lighting conditions.

Be careful with my sound impressions - we seem to have a very different taste.
Even unmodded, I strongly prefer Pro 80/HI 2050 over B6 and B7.
B6 and B7 just sound bad to me, I'm sorry I bought them.

B8 is a whole other animal (and the sole reason why I took a risk with B6 and B7).
They are one of only 4 full-size headphones I keep in my office - and 2 of the other 3 are Stax - so we are talking a pretty high hurdle to clear.

Don't forget to vote on the top of the first page!
I will do at least 5 comparisons - every vote counts!

@Roderick
Actually, I see in the MSUR thread that you were unhappy with B6/B7 stock and modded them to get good sound.
So maybe our tastes aren't that different.
How did you like Pro 80/HI 2050 vs B6/B7 stock?

Thank you for the review. Very informative topic.

I am looking forward for comparisons between

isk hd9999 hd 2011 and especially B8!

Also if possible please give details about bass distortion (May be called THD ?) when ports are closed.

That's one vote for ISK HD9999 - noted.
Hope you voted for the others in the poll on top of the page.

When ports are closed, the bass quality is superb, I don't hear any distortion.

Hello
Would pro82 be higher than the isk mdh9000?
The pro82 earpads can be replaced by the Brainwavz HM5?

I do not own ISK MDH9000, so can't comment.

I would advise against using HM5 pads on Pro 82.
They are much thicker than the pre-installed ones, so they would actually increase pressure on the head - therefore better total comfort is not guaranteed.
They are also very likely to have a negative effect on the sound.
The pre-installed pads are great - they are over-ear for sure, comfortable enough and don't leak at all - why bother tinkering?

Pro 80 is one of my favorite headphones of all time. I would love to review these. The Pro 80 is one of the reasons Asian audio became highly respected over the years. They even became one of the better gaming headsets available as the Kingston Hyper X.

They won't come close to my modded balanced Monoprice M1060's, but I'd love to see how Takstar improved on these.

Yeah PRO80 looks more premium and the material looks very promising. I have seen a friends of using and it looks bad on the white color. I have plan to upgrade mine, but decided not to go for it. ISK MDH9000 looks more promising in my opinion.
