Splitting this off from the Takstar Pro 82 thread so as to not confuse/combine different headphones models.

The HF 580 appears to be a brand new release from Takstar. I've ordered a pair based on my ultrapositive experiences with the Pro 82. For $160 shipped to the U.S., it may be a great entry-level planar.

On the positive side, the construction looks sturdy and it seems like the earpads are fairly standard and easy to swap (compared to a lot of planar magnetic headphones which often have earpads glued to proprietary mounting rings, require adapters, etc.) On the negative side, am I correct that the wire is permanently attached? That would be unfortunate if you can't upgrade/swap the cable (for instance if you wanted to drive it with a balanced cable).

They certainly do look attached, don't they... that's too bad, as the Pro 82 have removable wires.

Nice find! These looks very appealing. If I haven't got the Brainwavz Alara just recently I'd pick up a pair right away. I think I'll wait for some impressions and not the leas to see if the cable is detachable or not as it's very hard to tell from the existing pictures but I agree that it seems to be permanently attached.

Did anyone else ordered the HF 580, and got this message from TakstarAudio Store?

"Hi,

Sorry about the Takstar HF 580. It has two model name. If sell in China, it called HI 3050. If sell it out of China, it called HF 580B.

Because it is a new model, the factory only has the HI 3050 in stock at present, they say maybe it need to wait for 4-5 more days can supply the HF 580B.

We have confirmed with factory. They say the HI 3050 and HF 580B are same model, only the model name is different, their outward appearance and Technical Parameters are same.

Please see the photos in attachment, these Takstar HI 3050's photos.

So please confirm if you agree we ship the earphone mark with model name Takstar HI 3050 or wait for several days for the HI 580B?

Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Waiting for your fast reply!

Best regards
Ellie"

Would you wait for the HF 580B, or order the HI 3050?

Listed efficiency appears to be 3db different as well: 93db for the 3050 and 90db for the 580.

Doing a Google search for the HI 3050 turns up a reference here at head-fi in the Pro 82 thread and the URL (no longer valid) references a 2017 catalogue, so this may not be as new of a headphone as we think; just new outside of China perhaps.

I decided to wait the 7 days for the HF 580, so it will be interesting to compare.

From my knowledge of the way Takstar works is that a new product can sit in their product list for a while, but won't be attainable till they announce it in the product news section of their site. The HF 580 add is from the 22nd of March. Less than a month old. So I think that HI3050 is just a first batch of HF 580.

Also, Takstar has a record of leaving products for years in their product catalog and never releasing them to production. HI 2500 anyone?
