I'm buying from this store on ebay called aural exploits, because I just got a heap of a cash graduation gift.

They combine shipping so I might as well make a big order, but I'm lacking inspiration. Choose me something that would improve any music collection, maybe an old classic, or maybe a brand new classic, maybe something a little different, maybe an old standby. Assume I do not have the obvious.

Congrats on the graduation!

Here's what I'd pick up:

1. Of Montreal - Sunlandic Twins
2. Calexico - Feast of Wire
3. Nick Cave - Abbatoir Blues
4. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
5. Nelson, Haggard, Price - Last of the Breed
6. John Coltrane - Blue Train
7. Legendary Shack Shakers - Pandelerium
8. Johnny Cash - American IV
9. Depeche Mode - Violator
10. Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks
11. Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri
12. Talking Heads - Remain in Light
13. Count Basie - Get Together
14. Chet Baker - In New York
15. Pixies - Surfer Rosa
16. Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel
17. Nick Drake - A Treasury
18. Elvis Costello - Blood & Chocolate
19. Art Blakey - 3 Blind Mice
20. Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

I've got all of these, but not all on vinyl. I'd rank each of these somewhere between very good and classic. I have no idea if our tastes mesh, but I'd love it if you bought a few and enjoyed them as much as I do. Don't be afraid of the country selections.

In the Aeroplane over the Sea and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot most definately. I might just pounce on them for the future when I might regain my vinyl setup.

Spoon - Kill the Moonlight
The Postal Service - Give up
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Are all excellent choices as well, seller has some great vinyl selection, I'm going to have to remember that.

Based upon this juxtaposition, I am forced to buy the spoon album. I love the other two dearly, and already have them. What am I in for?

I already have the following as well

Depeche Mode - Violator
In the Aeroplane over the Sea <3<3
John Coltrane - Blue Train

Piano based rock n' roll... If you saw Stranger than Fiction quite a few of the tracks are from Spoon.

I've been on a MAJOR kick lately for piano... rock? (Elton John, Ben Folds even The Fray and Keane) and those were just three that popped into my head to actually search out on the dudes site, but you should check them out anyway, it's a really tightly woven album.
