Take a look at this interconnect

Galen,

It seems kind of funny that they state that separating the cables does so much for their cables. They start out touching, and run right next to each other for nearly half the length of the cables. It's not until the middle that things start to separate. It also looks like one bend too far and it would ruin the air insulation and the conductor.

And yes, that unsightly block of wood in the middle would make things difficult to work with.

This cable company did actually get some good reviews in audioasylum. I happened to bought a second-handed Bogdan silver IC with original bullet plug (the cheaper version) running in my 2 channel system. Since I don't have anything good to begin with, I can hardly do any comparison. My impression is it's quite revealing with good low level details.

Yea, it does seem kind of funny doesn't it. I'm not really sure how that spacer can really do much for vibration control. I would have thought that the flexibility of a cable would make vibration control problematic - maybe that outer teflon tubing in pretty rigid.

I did a search on "Bogdan Silver" over at Audio Asylum. There seems to be some favorable reviews of their silver cables even in comparison to Acoustic Zen Silver Ref. II. However, I didn't find any reference to this particular model.

They do have a more "traditional" braided silver cable for $169.

EDIT: Aaarrggh, mkyy you beat me to the punch!

You get down to it, good bad or otherwise, how can you distinguish your IC from all the others on the market unless it has some striking visual effect (or a stereophile review)?

I'm no expert, but I find it hard to believe that separating the cable like that offers any advantage beyond what you get from over ordinary shielding for the small signals they conduct.

Seperating the conductors like that will increases the pick up of RF noise. (loop area increases) That may or may not be a problem, depending on your circumstance.

yeah.... twisted pair cables block at least some noise. these cables offer no ambient noise supression. though this might not be a problem to many systems anyway.

but my biggest concern is the way they use an "air" dielectric. if they didn't fill the tubes with an inert gas, the silver in there will corrode HELLA fast. ....so, say goodbye to your cables faster then you can clean your favorite silver service! i'm sure they didn't vacuum them cause the pressure difference would have crushed the teflon tubing.

in conclusion, i think these interconnects look really cool.... but you should buy 50 of them, so you can change them every year when the silver has turned into a dull oxide rock!

Wow, you may need an extra room, to set a whole system with this cables, or at least 4 feet extra of space between the wall and the gear...
