If this is not the right forum for this, can someone move it? Thanks.
I mainly use filetree for directory struture. Since not all my music is tagged correctly, and not all players handle tags the same. But the problem I have is that I can end up with duplicate artist folders. I might have one for Hendrix in Blues and another in Classic Rock or Hard Rock etc. How do YOU resolve this?
I know you could go the iTune route and have just artist folders. But if you've a lot of single tracks, it doesn't make sense IMO to put each in their own folder. But I guess it does make duplicates more obvious. I'm aso don't like how compliations are handled in iTunes, and its needs far more maintaince where you've untagged files. Classical music is also a difficult one to tag so that it works. I tend to pick music based on genre and mood rather than specific artist. Though I do that too.
I know people have their own ways, that suit them, and its a very subjective thing. Just looking for ideas tis all.
