After hearing a sound demo of the t50rp mk3's on z reviews YouTube channel i was floored. I could even hear the airyness, and ambience that they produced compared to something like the hd600, demoed on the same yt Channel.

After looking at a frequency graph though, there is a crazy peak around 10khz. Like, a Beyer killing peak. I've read that a peak there is desirable, but every headphone ive ever listened to with one in that area has been harsh to me to the point I couldn't eq it away.

I am very sensitive to sibilance and overly forward upper mids, to the point that even neutral headphones like my hd555's frequently have harsh treble. Imagine an old man whistling through his false teeth (while talking), amplified right into your ears. Yeah, that's what sibilance is for me.

I was thinking that maybe trying something other than a dynamic driver would sound smoother overall, but that peak has me worried. Should I stick to speakers or is there hope for me? My av123 elt525's have shown me that speakers don't have to be harsh.

I have read that best buy magnolia has the t50rp's on display? Maybe it's time for a trip.
