Im looking at these two phones for messaging and internet use, and im just wondering what other people think of these phones and which would you choose and why?

Heres the two phones on CNET. They reviewed both.

CNET Comparison Chart

If you give opinions, please indicate if youve owned them, only tried them in a shop or a friend had it, or researched and never saw them at all.

Thanks!!!

blackberry over any other windows mobile devices anytime - much easier to use and push e-mail actually works on blackberry software, unlike windows mobile.

However, I would wait until blackberry 9000 comes out.

I live in Canada but got a friend to get my a tmobile dash which apparently is the same speed as the wing.

The dash was horribly slow.

That's all I have to say...I didn't have it for long.

I'm somewhat of an HTC fangirl, and I'd normally say T-Mobile Wing..
But.. I've played around with the BlackBerry 8320 before, and I loved it more than most of the smartphone/PDA that I've tried out/used. Miles ahead of the Wing.
UI is very simple and easy to use, and the trackball reminded me of ThinkPads

Im on the work pc now checking my poll, and only 3 have responded so far, but you all voted blackberry so far.
It may come down to price and what plan i can get with it though. Im going to have to go to the store today after work and check it out. If the blackberry is too much,i may end up with the wing, but honestly any of the smartphones would be better than what i have now, so ill still be plenty happy with either.
I can get the wing for $150usd as an upgrade, and add 400 more minutes to my plan plus another phone and tel number, and wont be paying any more than i am now because of a loop-hole family plan thing, or whatever. Ok, i dont need the extra number or phone, but i also dont have to use it. If i dont do it this way, ill be paying $300 for the wing and ill be keeping the same plan.......makes no sense. Plus, the other phone could come in handy if im traveling with someone that doesnt have a cellphone, so that person can borrow mine on the trip so we can keep in touch if we separate to shop etc.
Ill check back in for more results during break and before i leave for work.

True,thanks.....i did know that, but i carry a zune, amp, and headphones....but it could be handy. Im mostly concerned with internet surfing when i want to check something while shopping etc., or traveling, and also messeging on yahoo, aim, and msn. Streaming internet music is cool too though, because i do listen to internet broadcasts.

Internet surfing is pretty weak on blackberries. If you are going to do some significant surfing, then iPhone is the best for that. For messaging, blackberry hands down. I used HTC excalibur before and i absolutely hated it.

If you are not in a hurry, you might wanna wait out for the 9000. Very nice. The screen is absolutely beautiful.

With the HTC Wing, you get a proper OS and a totally "skinnable" today screen. Oh yeah, and a touch screen. Blackberry isn't aware there is such a thing.

HTC Wing all the way, between those two.

I would choose neither of them, and that's based on having owned a Curve and the Wing's predecessor, the MDA and pretty much hating both. But if I had to choose between just those two then I'd say the Curve due to it's better responsiveness, better battery life, and better email-handling. The Wing does have a much better keyboard and a more capable, if slower, web browser though.

I went for the Wing.
The Curve's keyboard was too hard to use, and i couldnt see the letters and symbols etc. because of how small they were, and i could see it becomming a problem for me. The Wings light-up keyboard is great really. So far the phone is just what i want. The included earbuds plug into a small mini-usb type connector. It doesnt have a regular 1/8" jack, which i find to be stupid, but it doesnt sound bad for an add-on feature, just to have something to listen to in case i dont bring my other music players along.

The volume should have more power though. It doesnt really go loud phone-call wise, or music wise. If its noisey and someones talking low, i put it on speaker and lower the volume a bit and hold it on my ear like its the regular ear-speaker, and it works out fine.

The messaging is exactly what i wanted.
I also have battery packs that will charge the phone a number of times while im not home, for days of talk time and internet time.

So, anyway, im happy with my purchase.
Every phone has pluses and minuses, and this one works for me.

I also looked at the sidekick phones, and they didnt compare to either the curve or the wing. Someone at work also showed me her Treo. I didnt want to throw more confusion in my head...lol.

Anyway, thanks for all your input!!!

I just realized the earbuds play in BOTH ears for phone calls!!! I love that, cuz sometimes i have problems discerning what people say through only one ear. Pretty cool!
