I cant seem to find a thread about it, maybe its not happening.

There are a few headphone venders, like HiFiMan, on the exhibitor list. Maybe they will have a room.

Thanks Zach. Looks like fun, but small headphone show. I might try to get out there since I'm in the market for some living room speakers. Looks like CanJam/RMAF is still the premier headphone show.

I just got this announcement from Bottlehead. If you are going to the THE show, stop by their table.

Eileen and I are headed to T.H.E. Show Newport this weekend (in Irvine ?!). We will be demonstrating Tape Project tapes in the Software room, table E-18 next to Reference Recordings. We are putting our best foot forward and for the demos we will use the BottleNagra, my personal Nagra T Audio tape deck with Bottlehead Tube Repro playback preamp. It will be running into two headphone amps. One of them is our new flagship Neothoriator 845 headphone amp, running the rare and wonderful AKG K-1000 headphones. The other headphone amp will be my personal Mainline kit amp, running a pair of Sennheiser HD800s. Please come by, say hi and have a listen if you are at THE Show this weekend.

In consideration of the Mainline being shown off this weekend we have decided to run a special during the show. Mainline is regularly $1199, but during the show we will be rolling the price in our online store back to $999, a $200 savings. We gotta get home and get ready to catch a plane tomorrow, so we decided to go ahead and launch the special at our beginning of the show, tonight. The sale will end when the show ends on Sunday afternoon. As usual delivery is subject to getting the parts inventory in, and orders are shipped in the order they are received. So the sooner you order the higher up you will be in the shipping queue.

We still have quite a few opportunities to get in on the second DAC production run and just five days in which to get your order in. So if you have been thinking about getting a DAC now is the time to get that order in. Read the reviews one more time. I'm not saying who's $2500 to $6000 DACs were getting compared to ours (they are all such nice people) - just that they were not coming out ahead of the BHDAC.

If you are at THE Show this weekend please stop by and say hi!

Regards,
The Bottlehead Forum Team.

Any  one already attended care to share their experiences?
I'm surprise head-fi isn't promoting this year event as much as last year.  No front page notice or any mention at all.

I was there yesterday, pretty much only spent time talking with Brannan from Noble. I didn't listen to anything at all, lol. I did happen to walk in for free using my Ninja skills.

I stopped by on Fri morning for a few hours as I was in Irvine the day before. Hadn't been to previous ones so can't comment in comparison to other years, but it was in a good sized pavilion that's outside the hotel.

I was able to stop by and have a good listen at Audeze (heard the EL-8 open and closed backs, they also had all of their various LCDs), Cavalli (who was showcasing their Liquid Carbon $599 amp and Liquid Silicon $300 amps, connected to a Chord Hugo and with a number of headphones - HE1000, MrSpeakers Ether were the ones I remember), Centrance (they had their production model HiFi-Skyn iPhone 5 cases), MrSpeakers (big booth with at least 6 listening stations with Mad Dogs, Alpha Dogs, Alpha Primes, and many Ethers).

HiFiMan had a big booth in the back left with a HE400i, HE560, 2 HE1000s, and they were showcasing their new as-yet not on the market HE400s, which they said will be priced at $299 (vs $499 400i) and are meant to be driven much more easily, and can be plugged in directly into your smartphone or DAP. Chatted a bit with the guy there, and sound quality not supposed to be at 400i level, and more directed at the average consumer.

Astell&Kern also had a big booth showcasing all their DAPs, including their new AK380.

I went early on the first day, so it wasn't too busy. Had 30min+ listening sessions with the Ether, HE560 and HE400i which are on my list. MrSpeakers had nice DAC/Amp Decks on display (lot of Schiit and Bryson), but I did most ot my listening with my iPhone 5s / HiFi-M8 to get a sense for how I would listen. I know it has been said a lot, but I really loved the Ethers :) HiFiMan booth was using their own DAP / DAC / Amps. Wish I would've had more time!

Posted in the Anime thread pretty quickly and unseriously some of the time so pardon if things sound silly.

Back from T.H.E. Show Newport, was fun. Lighting was spotty at times so more than half of images came out out of focus. Thanks Galaxy S5.

Grand ballroom there was a red lambo aventador. It was red.

Hifiman He-400s, was very nice, very light and comfortable. Very efficient planar and decent open back planar bass. Basically the he-400 and improved and in every way. Wasn't hearing recessed upper mids or forward treble from what I could tell.

Hifiman Re-1000, dual ba I think. Bassy ba, slightly dark, more mid bass rather than sub iirc. Tad large shape.

Noble savant (right) in picture 1, my noble 4 (left) picture 1. Improved cable on the noble series than the cable I got with mine last year. Shell smaller than the noble 4. Extended deeper into the subbass than the 4, extended tad higher in the treble than 4, mids relatively the same. Very nice iem, no idea driver count, everybody I talked about it liked it.

Questyle dap. Sounded very good, better than the x5 in my opinion. Longer than the x5 length wise, smaller than the x5 width wise, slightly thinner than x5. Scrollwheel very solid and stiff unlike the loose x5 scroll wheel. Plugged in my micro sd from my x5 and listened to Chinese girl cartoon music, 2hu, boats, metal. Sunbather good album.

New centrance usb dac, size roughly around schiit fulla size. Plugged into my galaxy s5 and listened to it, sounds slightly better than my dragonfly. Early prototype unit, volume wheel didn't work yet, high low gain switch needs toothpick to switch, some emi issues on my phone. Centrance rep said he wasn't sure if it would work on android yet and so was surprised when it just went and worked for me. He documented my concerns and would address it. I liked the sound.

Cavalli amp, very popular and pretty. Didn't listen as guy next to me was listening and I forgot to listen after him.

My x5 on top of cavalli portable, another portable cavalli right next to it. Very good amp, think it sounded better than my o2.

HRT dsp dac. Very small and very light weight amp. Listened to it with the msr7 and my noble 4. Sounded good, prefer the sound of my dragonfly but still very decent sounding dac/amp.

New ZMF headphone, big cool looking tube amp. Tad mixed on the prototype omni sound. Other ZMF sounded quite nice.

Layla with my spinfits. Probably the best sounding iem I have heard still. Strong and deep bass, clear mids, wonderful treble. I like. Big shell, stock tips was awkward fit for me. Wore my UE shirt today and JH commented on my shirt, funny encounter.

Pic 1 out of focus schiit stack and my o2. Pic 2 in focus picture. Good combo and looked very nice. Sounded very good. Undecided if I like my dagonfly>o2 more or less.

Ak240 stainless steel edition, great dap, very price high.

Ak380 again, very good sounding. Ears reached point of where everything was sounding the same. Took a headphone break and listen to speakers. No pictures but the Riva Turbo X is great, go buy one. Elac bookshelf speakers were literal subwolfers and was shaking the room, elac speakers are cool.

I lied, big focal speaker picture. Very big, very loud, very old people in the room.

Alo audio portable tube amp and portable solid state amps. Didn't like the tube amp that much, really liked the solid state amp. Very nice amp.

Alo amp pretty and pretty big.

Alo audio has new headphones. Think these were solid steel. Very nice and solid feeling headphones. Strong thick bass and rather dark sound sig. New line is called Campfire Audio and they have a house sound already and similar solid metal builds. There were Campfire audio iems but those pictures came out super out of focus.
