Is there a way to run other headphones on the Stax SRM 007t????

Is there a way to run other headphones on the Stax SRM-1/MK-2- It has two 6 pin recepticals???

Yes, you can get adapters made. I think Singlepower makes the adapters, i'm sure some people on the forum could do it for you.

If your SRM-1 only has 6-pin sockets, you wouldn't WANT to run anything off of it except low bias Stax headphones anyway; the voltage is too low to power other headpones very well.

Hi, I guess you were directing that question to me. Well, I have two amps- The SRM 007t which has two pro bais inputs and the SRM-1 MK-2 which has two normal bais inputs. I also own a SRD-X portable adapter which allows me to go portable-with abuse!!
I also own the Omega 2s- Sigma Pros and two Sigma non pros.
I see that we are both NYC ers. I hope that answers you questions enjoy Scottsmrnyc

You could run an Orpheus at 230v. It would probably be extremely mellow sounding.

Some nice alternate amps for the Orpheus HE90 phones that come to mind are:

Singlepower ES-1 (heard it -- very clean/effortless/relaxed/wide dynamics/lucid/musical -- don't know the price yet -- anybody know?), McAlister Audio EA-1 (heard it - surprising good for a "budget" price of $799, McAlister Audio EA-4 (haven't heard it yet, supposedly better than EA-1, $949).

(Rudistor Egmont Signature HE90 (3,500 Euro) will handle it, but the unit I would have heard at the National Meet had a problem and was down when I got to it.)

I know!
Its available in three standard models, but I am pretty sure you can ask for features that make out any price within the range.
Entry = USD 4000.00
Updated = USD 6000.00
Maxed = USD 11.000.00

Ooops! I get hiccups just reading those figures.

(Thanks for the info.)

Speaking of ES-1, I've got mine coming anytime now! It's a maxxed out version with custom faceplates to match my Meitner Gear... I'm super interested to compare it with my HEV90.

I got a Stax SRM-1/MK-2 with a 5pin/6pin connector... removed the 6 pin connector and put an HE90 connector in its place (with the "pro" bias) plugged my HE60's (that have an HE90 connector on them) into it and it sounds great

there are also people that sell adapter cables which work fine, but replacing the socket looks so much nicer
