Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews

First impressions?

They both look great but there’s something about that Neptune blue 😍
The colour of that Neptune really pops doesn’t it, the Neptune 8W seems to take the standard sound and make everything smoother, the signature is exactly the same as the standard cable but the overall experience is enhanced to be just so buttery smooth. I know that’s a rubbish description but it’s all I’ve got right now

Oh. Man, both are stunning. Does the BW V3 have treble compression like the XL?
Yes, I have another BW V3 for my IE600 which I got specifically to tame the treble. When I first got the Titan I contacted Matt and asked him to recommend me a cable, he told me he could do the Black Widow in blue and it should be a nice companion for the Titans so I went ahead and ordered - he did warn me in advance that he was very busy and it could take a while for my cable to arrive. Fast forward 3 months and the Neptune arrives one day and the Black Widow the next :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There is clearly a difference in sound signatures between the Neptune and the BW, I’ll need to spend time with both cables to evaluate them properly. But when I first got the cable for my IE600 it was a revelation, it completely changed the experience of those particular IEMs.

Some people might not agree that a cable can make much of a difference, but I would urge them to AB test with something like a Black Widow and see if they still feel the same way.

I had a little bit of a revelation last night when tip rolling the Titans. I found that not only do the Render tips give me a great fit and seal, but the sound is fantastic. The bass comes alive and fun but sounds a bit uncontrolled. For a more controlled bass surprisingly the H570 tips do that really well AND create a nice fit and seal. I assumed they would reduce the bass a bit too much but I was completely wrong!

I tried out the render tips as I had a set lying around. They fit great and it sounds good. I was using the black and blue eartips which came along with the titans and they fit me well but i noticed they get looser over time and I needed to keep fixing it. Render tips sealed well and didn't move around. Great revelation !!

Does anyone here have experience with both Titan and CFA Bonneville? I'm very interested in getting the Titan, but unfortunately they are not available for demo in Japan. I'd love to hear the difference between Titan and Bonneville before purchasing...

One of my favorite sets are Bonneville and I'm getting the Titan and Crimson on loan very soon. Can do a short comparison l, but patience as I'm probably 1-2weeks away from it

I just bought a pair of titans.
I am really surprised by the tuning of the titans, it is not natural, detune.
the stock cable is really not good.
quite disappointed at the moment

Loving my Titans but having some issues with sourcing, wondering if anyone can help me out, just got a Fosi DS2 based on the list of (likely) compatible devices and even at medium volumes I hear a good bit of noise and crackling when using the 4.4mm balanced out (I’m assuming the 3.5mm won’t be enough juice). Similarly, on my Fiio K7 using the 4.4mm balanced out it actually trips some sort of overflow circuit because it shuts down instantly and starts flashing an error. Works perfectly off the quarter inch jack of the K7 and the quarter inch on my Magni Piety although there is some noise/crackling/distortion at higher volumes on the Piety. Is it the cable or do I just need different sources?

refer to the previous posts here about current output on dongles; the TL;DR is that your amps/sources are literally being sent into overdrive due to high current draw.

titan has super low impedance, which means that it requires higher current draw compared to other more stereotypical impedance loads. some (honestly a lot) of amps aren't optimised for that low impedance, and will either clip/distort to get to that output level or straight up just die.

the easiest solution would be to get a amp with more power (refer to the list of amps that symphonium has curated) to get the most out of titan.
