Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews

I'm planning to get an effect audio cable for the Titan. Can you guys suggest which one to get. Will the Eros S - 8 Wire be a good option ?
Eros S user here. I like the Titan with the Eros. It does a nice job refining the soundstage (though don't expect a drastic improvement in sound).

If you'd have a little more budget, go for the Code 24C. Silver plated copper. Looks nice aesthetically with the Titan.

I personally find the R4 to be slightly on the brighter side. Something to consider.

If you're buying directly from Symphonium, I recommend asking how much they'd charge to upgrade the 4w stock cable into an 8w. I have both their 4w and 8w cables they provide with the Crimson and I think it's the best sounding and most ergonomic 8w copper cable I've come across.

@Sebastien Chiu has one, but he's special.

That's also a pretty cool track to listen to on the Titan. The mid bass beats build up in quantity as you progress through the track with decaying sub bass filling the soundstage. When the "crickets" come in around 2:22 and hi hats around 3:08, they dance around the soundstage with detail and don't get drowned out by the bass.
I have asked for you - I actually don't know about the price myself.

Never the less, it's a wonderful cable.

From my 2024 Singapore CanJam notes, I would say the Empire Ears Triton prototype which I heard. I found it sounded like the Odin but beefed up with a tactile sub-bass due to the bone conduction driver. Like a nightclub sound system which you must toe-tap to as it grips you and does not let go.
For reference, I found the Odin sub-bass to be a bit slow. It was more mid-bass focussed with a rich tonality. Dynamic but had speaker flex.
I haven't checked if the Triton has made it to market. Uncle Goog is your friend there.

The Triton is not on market yet. We will probably hear more information from Jack and family at CanJam SoCal end of September.

Thanks! Code 24c would be a great fit sound wise.

I have several EffectAudio cables and I actually put the PWAudio 5th Anniversary 8-wire on the Titan. It opens it up a small amount and I like the feel of the cable better than the stock cable.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Depending on your budget but you have the Xenns UP u shaped natural with bass boost, The UP has good instruments separation and dynamics it’s more like a studio feel more than a club.

If you are looking for a club the Scarlet mini is a good option that has crazy sub-bass that will shake you up with decent treble but I don’t like the build quality of it. The mini will give that club feel it has a forward sub-bass good dynamics but the mids are clear but a little in the background. Requires a lot of power.

XE6, RN6 are good options but expensive. These two iems in particular have crazy bass response unlike anything I have heard in my entire life, XE6 has the most slamming mid-bass in an iem but still reminds resolving with top tier treble extension, mids are clear but a bit masked because of that fat mid-bass but very enjoyable for Hip hop, EDM, Reggae. RN6 is more natural than XE6 and has better vocals, detail retrieval, also the texture of instruments is better also works as an all rounder with all type of music, XE6 can work as an all rounder but it has some warmth if you don’t mind that. These two iems will make satisfied and your motivation to look for better iems will stop.
Im looking for something with a large amount of sub bass and also retaining a very fast punchy mid bass for drums. I want the drums to slam/kick in my ears just like a good subwoofer does rather than just boosted low sub bass. If you watch a live performance you can feel and hear the kick drums and still hear sustained bass notes. That’s what I’m after.

Fat sub-bass shelf belongs to Fatfreq either try Scarlet mini, SE or go for Fir audio they have lifelike bass reproduction they are very expensive but they will make you experience bass in ways you never have before. XE6, and RN6 slam really hard and still give you excellent midrange, vocals, and details.

I asked them this, when I was I planning on getting the Titan.
The response I eventually got was that they're busy doing a trial on the 8W cable, regarding its sound quality and pricing.

They went on to reassure, that if they do release the 8W cable all owners of the Titan and 4W cable will have an upgrade path to it...

Yes, like a champ. No need for the Y cable to drive the Titan into distortion. The best sounding dongle, technicals, stage, separation, dynamics. If you don't intend to splurge, or can't find the D16 or 320 Max. The DC Elite is a cost effective way to reach iBasso nirvana. The caveat is the volume knob. It might drive some OCD people insane.

I actually recently bought my DC Elite to try out different sources not expecting much but I must say I am very impressed. This is from someone who do not spend much on sources. I wanted to keep my budget for sources under $200 so this one was actually over my budget. I managed to buy it at $380 but I still find it pretty expensive.... although if it reaches about 80% of what the DX 320 Max sounds like it might be worth the price hah. :)

At what volume step do you run your Titan? What is with volume knob, the guard, the pop in between volumes?

I find it really expensive I am deciding whether to keep it or not since I still think my other sources like the Qudelix 5K still sound phenomenal and not super behind. A friend of mine tried the Titan with the Qudelix over bt and said it sounded fine. Me wondering if it drove the Titan to its potential.... he said he only demoed to find out the tonal balance of the Titan.

The DC Elite in my opinion is next level stuff. If you have gear that can scale. The DC Elite is worth every dollar. I have a 7hz Aurora I got from a friend out of curiosity. It is the most disappointing IEM for the price. It is safe and boring to the max. On the DC Elite, it opens up and becomes a whole new IEM.

My dealer is trying to find me a 320 Max and D16. I guess iBasso fanboys eventually get there.

The Quedilix 5K is okay, more functional than TOTL sound quality. Also, the lack of 4.4 is very yesteryear. It doesn't play on the same level as the DC Elite, maybe comparing it to a Fiio BTR-15 is more appropriate. The T71 is much better. Sound and build quality are top notch. Very clean, very transparent. I have a limited use case for dongles. Otherwise, I would own the T71 too.

I think the DC Elite is at less than half volume for the Titan. Okay. I just counted. I am using 8 clicks, 9 clicks is too loud.

If you don't need to fund the Titan through the sale of the DC Elite. Why not test the combo first? From my observation. When you reach a certain point in this hobby. The sources and cables rarely go into sidegrades. It's always upgrading into the TOTL. IEMs however get changed out every few months to a year. Keeping only a handful. You can always tell which are the experienced hands by the sources they keep. The fact that you own the DC Elite early is a short cut and might save you a lot of cash.

Love the sub-bass rumble on the Titan. Makes bass guitars sound as godly as they deserve. I only wish it had a bit more mid-bass punch. This IEM sounds like it was MADE for Bullet For My Valentine. The things its tuning does with their, and others', guitars is something I've never heard anywhere else and don't think I can give up. Yes, it has some minor shortcomings in sound, but that's unavoidable in audio. In love with the accessories, as well. More companies should follow their example!

Has anyone here tried the Fiio Q15 dac with the Symphonium Titan ? I found a very good deal on a used Q15 Dac and wanted to know if it will be a good pairing. It was one recommended pairings in the list shared by Zerochad.

Output wise, the Q15 will have no issues powering Titans. I’ve not heard the Q15, but the Q7 was a very good pairing for me.
