Not exactly the safest knife block around. All those exposed blades suspended in mid-air can't be good.

Ouch! I accidentally bumped my arm into the back of the knife block .... and opened three arteries.

Ouch! The knife block fell on my foot .... and severed my big toe.

Yeah I agree. Personally I prefer a magnetic wall rack. More sanitary that a block and keeps the knives out of the way.
