Hi all,

I've been looking around for some suppliers for Etymotic and Shure headphones in the UK.

At the moment I am interested in the Shure E2c's and the Ety 4p's but whenever I "Google" it I just get a myriad of suppliers in the US!

I have already arranged to pick up a pair of the Ety 4p's in Zurich on my next business trip out there. But if there are any audiophiles in London can you recommend any retailers?

I have yet to find any decent suppliers of etys in the EU. The ones listed on Etymotic's website either have them for outrageous prices, don't ship in the EU, or don't have the etys. I remember UAS Enterprises http://www.pjbox.co.uk used to be an official distributor, but they were very strange people, often ignoring and refusing orders for reasons only they know. I guess that's why Etymotic took them off the list.

As for Shures, you could try http://www.thomann.de

edit - heh, those pjbox people are back on the list for some reason. What happened when I ordered was that after two weeks I heard nothing, so then I emailed. I heard nothing, so after a week I emailed. Nothing. I called and got an answering machine. So after a month I was told the order was cancelled because they suspected me of fraud. Now did they suspect me of fraud because of any valid reason? No, they cancelled my order because I emailed them! Those people are just insane. Obviously they don't feel comfortable shipping in the Eu despite what their webpage claimed. I complained to Etymotic about it, but nothing came of it. Then I talking to some other people they seemed to have the same problem. Maybe things have changed since then.. but buyer beware.

Hi Plainsong,

Thanks for the reference. I'll take a look at the site later today.

Just for your information, the Etymotic 4p's that I'm getting from Europe are costing me 399CHF (approx. 185GBP or 295USD or 259EUR)

I have no experience with these people but I will let everyone know (if that's OK with the administrators of this newsgroup!)

Plainsong, post my privately if you want to know about this supplier. I'm not connected them at all (except for the fact that I'm ordering from them) They only seem to sell the Etys and Koss though!

What site are you getting them from?

That's not a bad price for in the EU. Pjbox has them for around 400 Euros.

Edit - doh! Didn't read the rest of the message.
