Ok i know i made a thread a while back about a grounding noise from my supermacro. Figured id ask again cuz im still not sure what it is. Im using the included ac adaptor and when i put the volume to minimum there is, what sounds like fuzz or grounding mess. i turn the volume up just a tad and its gone. I tried batteries still there. I tried my Mx 550s and it no longer did it. Could it be related to the HD 595s cabling??

Little J040, I think I remember your post from before.
I responded back, and will try again. I did a lot of
opamp rolling this weekend with my SM-1 and SM-3.

Possibly the cabling, but I am not sure. What I do know
is that you should not be hearing any grounding noise from
your supermacro.

Sounds like you have covered almost everything with your
setup. And with your Sen Mx 550 headphones you do not
hear your grounding noise. Interesting. Did you ever send
back your AMP to be checked out by Dr. Xin?

I have had both of my supermacro boards running off of the AC
power adapter this past weekend and I was hearing interference
sounds coming from my headphones (ER4P and A900's.) One time
I was touching the top pannel of my SM boards and I heard some
interference noises. I would then lift my finger off of the board and
the sound would stop.

If the noise is not being created by the HD 595s cabling, and you
are not going to send the amp back to Dr. Xin, then maybe try
opening up your SM and see what is going on inside the amp. Maybe
there is debris or something contacting the boards producing the
sound you are listening to? Maybe the SM boards are not seated
correctly inside the enclosure? Maybe there is a loose wire contacting
something within the enclosure? Maybe something more.

Good Luck!

Yes, i experienced the same thing, when i put my finger on the case , not the board it self in this case the noise went away almost completely. Makes me think its grounding because of that. Who knows i may be crazy too. Who knows, but i think i may resort to sending to Xin. I dont really want to take it apart but i guess i could if i can keep my amp with me. This way i wont loose more than a week w\o it..
