My HD-668B's should arrive next week (Easter and weekend kinda messed up things...) together with velour pads. However I'm not really sure how to remove the stock pad let alone how to install the new ones. Is there any tutorial anywhere for these headphones how to do it?
Got mine today. The stock pads come out easily and they are easy to put back on... but the superlux velour pads that I bought seem to be slightly smaller and I have trouble getting them on. I guess that I need to do some stretching for them (EDIT: that did it, successfully replaced the pads). The stock pads do make my head sweat.
I had to bend the head band quite a bit to reduce the clamping force but the good thing is that bending does indeed solve that.
Does DT990 velour ear pads fit Superlux 668b? Please anyone could verify that?
I recently bought DT770 PRO 16ohm for 165€ and returning them back to amazon.
I AM NOT SURPRISED by sound [bass vibrates in left earcup - broken]; too heavy; too tight on ears! Superlux inc.
I am now listening to 668bs, which are amazing with Krell KSA5.
The sound of Organ of Saint Saens symphony 3 is not bad at all.
Sound is well balanced.

Ok so I returned Beyerdynamic DT770 16ohm (175EUR) back to Amazon.co.uk and bought Superlux HD668B with DT990 earpads (total 70EUR).
BEST HEADPHONES I EVER LISTENED TO definitely upgrade from DT770 :- D. HAHA. SUCH A CHEAP STEAL. High-end budget end game. gg. So happy! ;] The most I love about it, not just sound but lightweight design - feels so comfy. Eargasm 100%.
DT770 feels sooo heavy and uncomfortable and sound worse-analytical-boring-tooflat vs Superlux.
I bought it because of this thread, specifically the stories where they packed their hd650 because of the hd668b
But since I got it, there's nothing there, like i said, not even close to hd650. Probably the guys said they are close are listening straight from their iphones.
Nice to know there is still some following on this hidden gem! Paired with a warmer amp and with sub bass boosted a little and highs reduced abit then these are stellar for the price!
It just that you get 40% - 50% sound in, like, 1/10 price?! For those with shallower pocket / wallet like student etc etc, that's bargain!
It's true that Senn HD600/650 had more micro details and etc etc, but, this headphone is USD30!!! For some people, the remaining 50-60% SQ just can't compared to the remaining 9/10 price.
Ofcourse, now that I had my senn hd600 for several years, this little guy can't compare to it, senn HD600 is just better. But, does it worth 10x price? Me? Yes. Others? Dunno.
I think 90% of them with right amplifier/dac/earpads.
668b has more head time than of He-500 now.
This is partly due to the light weight and comfy and the sound quality of strings of bigband.

If the other guys who commented early on in this thread put it that way then it would have been clearer to prospective buyers.
Reason why i felt that way coz i was looking for new cans that i could beat around, as an alternate to my hd600. My budget can't go beyond $50 or so as it's just an alternate set. After reading this thread i thought I've found the right cans for me,especially that there were claims that 668b's are the best under $100 or $150.sorry for the rant.
