Just compared the HD330 to the well regarded DT770 pro 250 ohm today.. The winner is HD330. I don´t get what the fuzz is about the DT770 and also the ATH-M50. it´s bass and treble and that´s about it.

Is that with the 330 stock, or dt770 earpads on it?

I replaced the pads on my aging HD330 and HD660 with aftermarket pleather pads from ebay and I must say that they are very well made, fit perfectly and don't alter the original sound signature.

Feel free to share a link to the ones you got. I once ordered a pair from ebay and they where good quality wise but they where so hard :frowning2:

It's simple blurbs like this that turn my radar on for a particular model to fall to a certain price. I apparently collect Superlux cans. Next up is the HD330!

I don't know yet, I recently picked up the HD562 in the same fashion. How did I find the best price? Someone posted a link in this thread! Even though I was perusing the web as I always do, I found the best price through this forum on head-fi. Come to think of it, many of my cans/buds/iems were purchased this way. Someone raves about them on head-fi - then someone posts a link for the best price. Then I buy it. The other thing I might do, is wait until December - because things seem to get less expensive about 5 days before Dec 25.

Of all the Superlux cans I own, these are my least favorite. Sibilant to the point of grainy. I like how they feel, not how they sound. However, when others use my cans, these are the ones they reach for - so they are very popular, just not with me.

Anyone could take a picture of the HD661 without the earpads?
The Bitfenix Flo look almost the same as the picture above of the HD685, although they don't have the felt discs.

@mtliu , have you removed the felt pads from the HD681 Evo?

I place the felt pads from the Evo on the HD661 driver, and I think the peaks on the highs are gone...
Need more testing

I removed the felt from my evos, i think they tamed it down to much.

Just ordered the DH660 with another pair of HM5 earpads to complete my superlux trio :)
