Ive got one of the original super mini amps purchased 09/02 and wondering if this thing will power the HD600.
I know there is a newer version with more gain.
I tried the mini at a local store and it would not power a pair of akg in fact it was no better than my sony pcdp .

I found that it didnt power mine very well. Out of a pcdp i can barely hear the difference.. Not so much in bass, but in soundstage and overall tonal quality. Its defently an upgrade over the stock amps in most pcdps... I had some problems with it (the volume knob was shorting out causing popping) and sent it back for repairs. Xin said hed just send me a new one upon recieving the old one. It should arrive any day now, i bieleve its the newest version... Ill let you know how much better (if at all) it sounds). I will generally only use it for computer gaming and portability once my asl mg/otl is in.
