I finally decided on a player and went with the Sony Vaio Pocket from Ecost.

Now the question is headphones. I know I want canal phones for the isolation, but which would you chose for this player?

Pertinent Info:
I listen to pop/rock/rap
I'm more of a mid/treble person, not bass as much.
Definitly want canal phones for the isolation factor.
Don't want to spend more than 250.

Thanks everyone,
c

Well, I think you can safely cross the Super.Fi Pros off your list.......they are skewed heavily toward the bass end of the spectrum.
I own the Etys, and recently heard, and ordered the Shure E4. To my ears, the Etys still win in the details department, but if you're looking for a slightly warmer, yet detailed, sound with more bass, I think the Shures fill the bill nicely. At least those are my impressions.
Hope this helps.

All signs point to e4c.
The e4c's are more about the mid/treble than the 5pro's. The 5pro's have a more forward midrange, but as joe said, they are skewed in the bassier direction. The e4c's don't have as much bass as the 5pro's, but it sounds like the bass will be plenty for you.
The er4's will be more detailed. However, my er6i's are terrible with rap.
so, e4c is my vote.

What are the sound characteristics of the vaio pocket, I figure that to be an important factor. (I've only had an old vaio lappy, and it wasn't too decent, course that's completely irrelevant)

I haven't heard it yet, so I don't know. The reviews say that it is a warmer sound that is "typical sony" whatever that means...

It was given really good reviews and that coupled with the space, I had to just buy it

Thanks everyone for the imput on the headphones.

I'm going to go and buy them now if I can find a good price.
