Super.fi 5pros + Tomahawk + iPod 60gb = good?

I haven't received my tomahawk and iems yet but I'm wondering do these work well together? I already paid for my tomahawk to Ray a while ago but I'm still deciding should I get these super.fis or not.

You do realize that no one has received their Tomahawks yet. So how can anyone answer your question as to whether it will go well with the super.fi's?

some people could have tried it at their local meets. =T if i had some super-fi's and an ipod, i could have tried out the tomahawk at the ny meet.

Well, my main question is that does the Super.fi 5 pros work well with an amp.

I didn't mean just the tomahawk, like every amp.. does it work well with an amp?

I don't think there are many phones that don't work well with an amp. I know my Super.fi 3s sound better with one. I'd also recommend a line out dock.

My PA2V2 seems to make everything smoother on my Super.Fi 5 Pro's when paired with my iRiver Clix....

don't worry about it, just get the tomahawk, try for yourself, and if it doesn't work for you, then sell it here and get something else.

ok thanks a lot. BTW I forgot to mention that I also ordered a Bling Bling dock from ALO. It seems to be the best cheaper choice for a nice looking cable.

Also does anyone know if the Red Wine iModded ipod have a huge difference compared to a Zen or normal ipod video?

Of course it makes a difference...Why would people pay $200 to have their Ipods modded if it didn't make a difference? A Redwine modded Ipod is the ultimate choice if using an amp with a portable DAP, end of story.

If redwine started modding 5Gs, I'd be all over it. Going to a 4G seems really dumb to me...even if they do have the better DAC. Perhaps because the black and white screen from my 2G bothered me too much...

Questionable if it has a better DAC. I think the 5g ipod sounds significantly better than the 4g comparing side by side.

Thats RedWine's reasoning behind only doing 4Gs. One would think they'd be able to swap out the DAC without a problem. Oh well.

The 4G has a poor amp with a decent DAC, everything since has a better amp but a poor DAC.

Then I'd think you'd want a 4G iPod Photo with it's color screen.
