Gona take one of these home from work today and wondering which one??? I work here at a Apple Specialist so I get cost. They both are about $68 or so. Which one would be good for portable "jogging, mtn biking, portable dvd movie playback etc.. Main music is pop/hip hop and rock.

I say the er6i. I had the sf3 before and they were to laid back for rock IMO of course. The ety's are really detailed and just have enough bass. Well maybe if you are a basshead they might not have enough bass.

While im no bass head I definately like my bass. I do listen to some hip hop like I said. Will the ety's not have much bass compared to the UE's? what about clarity and frequency response ?

Heck, I'd be scared to use them jogging. Too much isolation (at least with my E4c's), and I just feel like I'm out of touch with the rest of the world!

I can't comment on the sf3s but I do like my er6i for rock. It's also pretty good for hip-hop/rap if you're not a basshead.

So I ended up getting the Super.FI 3's. Here are my first impressions.

Well it was weird and somewhat hard getting these to fit the correct way "memory wire around ear". "E2c and others seemed easy" Once I got it to sit on my ear right I found out something else. I had to change the ear tip right away. The foamies seem to do a real good job of isolation and also of better bass response. Sound is very good and so is sound stage even better so then my full size cans which is odd. I do have 1 BIG GRIPE. I seem to get static through them from every source. Tried ipod, mac, + others. Its really noticeble at low volumes and seems to drown away as a song starts or volume increases. If I leave my ipod or computer on pause its definately there. Is this normal?? I dont remember having this with my shure e2's. Also these will be out for joggin etc.. as the harmonics 'I hope thats the right word' is quite loud. Even my heart beat can sound like thunder if there is no music playing

I think these might be great for movies though. That will be my next test. Any help with the static issue would be greatly appreciated.

Any idea's on making this a little more comfy? I only used em for say 20mins and ears are super sore. I thought they would be more comfy then my e2's because of the smaller driver but guess not.

I'm very interested in both phones. I'm almost decided for the Etymotic. I think that confort stuff is normal. That happened with my current and first IEM, ATH CKM-50. At first, I coudln't use them for more than 20 min. I thought I wasn't going to get used to IEM, but today it's completely normal.
