Suggestions wanted: Home theatre for $4-500?

Some package deal. This is on behalf of a friend, I would never spend so little on something like this. Anyone have any thing good to say about anything in this pricerange? Looking for reciever + 5.1.

If the Kenwood Home-Theater-In-A-Box (HTIB) are as good as when they first came out, they'll fill you theater duties faithfully. They aren't the best, but good for how much they cost. I haven't used any since about 2000, so they may be different...try them first.
