I started getting into higher(ish) end IEMs about 4 years ago and have purchased 4 pairs over that time, all 4 with mostly similar(ish) sound signatures: ATH-CKS1000, MA750, DN-1000, and EPH-100… tending toward v-shaped, warm, and slightly bassy, all in the $120-$200 range. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and I have liked them all, but I’m looking to change gears and go for something that is truly a basshead IEM, while going somewhere in the $200-$400 range if the value is good. Some IEMs I’m considering:
EMP-M200
HA-FX1100
HA-FX850
HA-FXZ200
MDR-XB90EX
SE-CX9
I am aiming for a huge step up in bass, while also upgrading to something clearer, more analytical, and with a significantly better/bigger soundstage (if all that is possible). Basically anything that is as good or better overall than the 4 IEMs I've owned, but with much more bass.
Would like to hear comparisons on these 6 with each other and to my 4. Open to other suggestions as well.
