Hi all,

Anyone has suggestions for a dedicated DAC that is under $400 and that has balanced XLR outputs? I will connect this DAC to an amp/preamp so I'd prefer if it had fixed outputs (or no preamp function at all).

Thanks!

For anyone wondering, while researching I stumbled upon the TEAC UD-301. While it would strech my budget by about $100, it still seems to be a great bang for the buck. It has a switch that allows to use the rear outputs as Fixed, Variable, or to turn them off completely to reduce interference in the headphone output.

I read this thread and people seem to really like this little DAC:

If anyone has other suggestions I'd be happy to hear!
