Hi yo guys, this is my first post in this forum (finally),
but I keep visiting this website since 3 years ago, since I bought my first "branded" headphones.

Now I got a favor to ask for fellow head-fi,
I been realizing the potential of a headphone since I bought Sennheiser MX350 for my mini iRiver ifp-100 mp3 player before, and it's because of this forum, I found this headphone, and been my favorite since. (my past headphones Koss KSC 90 & 55 is a real pain on my ears)

So I took next step, searching for isolation-headphones, and I got my first canal earphone - Etymotic ER-6i, but I'm not really satisfied - The isolation is damn good (almost got hit by a car), clarity is great, however, i feel pain after using it for a period of times, so my conclusion - not comfort at all.

Then I take brave-step to next level headphone (entry-grade), and bought Alessandro MS-1. This is so far my best headphone I ever use in terms of sound quality, I really love the sound that produced by this can (since I'm regular Rock/Metal listener). In terms of comfort, it's hell a way better than my ER-6i & MX-350 (since it's open can), but still, sometimes my ears feel hot and discomfort after using it for period of time (1-2hours), and then the soundstage is really weak, I can't use this headphone for watching movie or playing games.

So I decide to use my MS-1 for my ipod & portable use, and begun searching a new headphone that would able to provide great comfort, perfect for all genre-music (especially classic), gaming, and watching movie through my PC (Equiped with Audigy 2 ZS).

and I really hope you can give me best suggestion for this matter =)
I've been researching through many sites (especially this forum), and people keep mentioning Beyerdynamic DT770/80 and AudioTechnica AD700 (my friend currently ordering this). So is this headphones really great for PC and all-round-stuff? and is there any more suggestions.

Everything would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Seems like you plan on using these cans for movies, gaming and music. In that case you'd probably want the Audio Technica A900 or the Beyerdynamic DT770/80 Pro's. Both are closed and deliver a lot of bass, have awesome soundstange, are extremely comfortable for long term use.

Get the Denon D2000s. I would take them over anything I've owned (see my sig) plus they sound fine without an amp and they're suitable for the office use since they're closed.

Hmm, thanks for suggestions...
Denon D2000 is a new addition to me, how does it compare to A900 or AD700(open) and DT770pro80?

And one more question,
which beyer product is called "Darth Beyer"?

The D2000 are probably a bit better then the A900/DT770 pro, but they also cost around $260 from AC.

Darth Beyers are a mod that can be done to Beyer headphones like the DT770 pro.

I suggest AD700 (open) or DT880 (closed) from your list. Good analytical phones with soundstage. DT770 if you like your boom boom.

If you're looking into the Audio Technicas, this is what you need to know:

D - Open: More soundstage; Less bass impact; More upfront,Natural midrange: overall better SQ
W/O D Designation: Less soundstage; More bass; less natural midrange: overall worse SQ

DT880 is "semi-open"... so that's not closed.

I just took the plunge on the AD-700. I hope it's everything I'd hope it'd be.

I'm glad all these Denon comparisons are kicking on some I can see if the Denon's are wortha shot. Prolly just gonna get a closed Darth and end my headphile career.
