Suggest a headphone

Hello All,

Greetings of the day. I'm a new user here. I would like to buy a headphone and it would be great have ur suggestions.

Here is my requirement lists:

My flatemate plays loud music in his 5.1 system which seeps up to 1st floor n slightly audible even with door shut. Need a phone which would block external sound & would let me enjoy my music.

Size is not a matter as the phone will be solely used on my laptop (Got a cx-300 for my mp3 player)

Cost is a matter, UK pound 50 ish is the budget

Tend to listen to all kinda music but slightly prefer bassy tunes more than others

After researching a bit, not sure whether to buy a open or closed one. I find people saying open ones are usually better sound producing ones but leaky where as closed ones prevent external noise entering in.

Any input in this regard would also be appreciated.

If you need it to block external sound, it'll need to be closed.

The Sony MDR-V6s are very neutral closed headphones from what I've read, and are £54.80 from Amazon.co.uk. They seem to be pretty popular entry level phones.
