I was wondering if having more subdivisions in the crowded headphones forum is a good idea? ie Newbie, Senns, Grados, Closed, Open etc

Because although I come on quite often, maybe once a day on average, I never really liked the idea of seeing the headphone forum flooded with new posts all the time!

Is it just me?

Not a good idea because...

Subdivisions - in the high school hall...

Subdivisions - in the shopping malls

Conform or be cast out...

In the basement bars...

In the backs of cars...

Be cool or be cast out...

LOL,
Any escape might help to smooth
The unattractive truth
But the suburbs have no charms to soothe
The restless dreams of youth

I would again suggest (as I did several times) to make a subforums in the headphone reviews section according to headphone manufacturers. Since the number of reviews is increasing, it might speed up searching reviews especially for newbies and people who find Head-fi via any search engine.

The boy lies in the grass unmoving
Staring at the sky
His mother starts to call him
As a hawk goes soaring by
And the boy throws down his baseball cap
And covers up his eye's.

Actually, I don't think that we need to subdivide the headphones thread. There's a lot there, but it's IMHO going to be less functional if we chop it up.

I don't think that subdividing the headphones section would work because a lot of the posts are "Should I get headphone X from brand Y or headphone A from brand B" or "Review of A from B vs. X from Z" Except for posts on modding headphones, very few threads end up being dedicated to a single headphone brand. EDIT: Plus, it would reduce the visibility of threads as some members would choose not to visit all the different subdivisions.
