My Atrio M5s are about to die - the wire attached to one of the buds is almost gone and I'm looking for replacement IEMs. I listen mostly to electronic music and I really like the sub-bass on my M5s, giving me the big club bass bin feel.
At the same time I'm looking for something more in terms of sound stage. I recently made a trip to a local audio store to check out some monitor speakers and was blown away by Focal 65s. I could almost see the sound travelling towards me from all possible directions from those speakers. I would love to have some of that effect in my headphones, but unfortunately M5s (and presumably the newer Future Sonics pieces) don't seem to provide that.
So - sub-base, sound stage, affordability - I probably have to choose two out of three or can I have all in one? My budget would be $200-$300. Other important factors are ease of wear - I would be using them every day during commute, etc. Sound isolation is very important too.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
