i only remember one amp which is below 50$

Millenium HP-1 Headphone Amp - Thomann Österreich

Isn't really bad but don't expect any magic or build quality from it. ^^ Listening to it for about 3 month now and the potty already produces scratchy sounds when turning it.

You can get the Fiio for $18 shipped from dealextreme.com if you don't mind waiting a little while for international shipping. It's not bad, although the DT770s are serious headphones and don't take kindly to puny amps.

Head-Direct.com | YUIN

Qinpu Q1.

I have never it from my own ears, I just ordered mine yesterday night (and I already been refunded some extra shipping costs that I've paid (from combined shipping), and got a couple of questions answered). The transaction, for the moment, is as smooth as it goes. Head-Direct has a reputation of being very professionnal.

At 39$, not only it is sub-50$, but it also doubles up as a small speaker amp

You gotta love the looks of it too

His big brother, the Q2, at double the price, has more praise, but is out of your budget.

I also have a few years of experience with a pa2v2 hooked up to an x360 and a pair of HD555 for gaming and movie watching. I see it as a warm, cheap, not so detailed, but dynamic, fun sounding, yet small, volume control

. I really like it, but I want to try something different, something full-size, and more delicate, more musical, more transparent, with the Q1.

I had a great time with the transaction too. The pa2v2 still works flawlessly. There is some slight imbalance at lower volumes though, volumes which I don't listen at anyways... and some hissing at very high volumes, the other kind of volumes I don't listen at...

The Q1 should sell for 59$ (includes ac adapter, standard rca and 3.5mm interconnects and shipping) and the pa2v2, without batteries, should sell for 60$ (includes shipping, ac adapter, and standard 3.5mm interconnect).

I don't know of any other...

I have no experience with your headphones, so I really can't comment on them.

Good luck!

And I almost forgot... I ordered a FiiO E5 along with the Q1

Might be good as well...

I dont think the Fiio is going to drive those headphones.
Try the desktop amps, like that Qinpu thing. I never heard it though.
I think Skylab reviewed one or more of them, so check his review thread for it.
I dont see a headphone input on that Qinpu amp. Sure it has one?

Uhh I accidentally bought a used old DT 990 pro (600 ohm) recently and also found my Creative Audigy 2 NX couldn't do anything to make its sound tolerable. So I'm also looking for an amp or maybe a USB DAC to replace it.

I'm thinking about buying a $100~$200 one (used I guess) because I personally believe I'd search for more expensive amps if I only bought a $50 amp now. So why not just buy an expensive amp then delete the head-fi account forever! lol!

Anything is going to "drive" them but to drive them well I'd save up your money, better to spend $200 on a Little Dot or Darkvoice or something that works nicely, than to spend $50 and still be wanting.

Might want to quit head-fi or at least disable your paypal account after getting your $200 amp, you definitely have the right idea when you said the $50 amp won't keep you entertained for long. After looking over and over at the Havana DAC I now am in a lot of pain.

Haha xD
Hey I'm not a racist and am a Chinese myself but I personally don't feel like buying Chinese products (like Little Dot and Darkvoice) because for some reason I believe there must be some defective components embedded within the machines and returning it back to China would take a great effort. But since I don't know those two brands well (and most of the brands for sure). Do that two brands use high quality components for their machines?

This stereotype's keeping me from buying Chinese products and making me consider buying a German brand amp like Meier's :/
