I'm looking for some IEM's for my iphone 3g 16gb. I will be pairing them with a fiilo e5. I was giving the new apple in-ear headphones for christmas and I am disappointed with the bass, which does not exist. I'm looking for something that sounds as close to the HD555 as possible for under $160 if possible.

Try the ZAGG Z.Buds. The bass is great on them.

I haven't heard the HD555, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the bass response on the Z.Buds.

I should have a pair of NE-7Ms and the new Apple In-Ears tomorrow. I will then be comparing the three of them against each other over the next week or so.

I'm very curious to see how the three differ from one another.

I too would love a comparison of the NE-7Ms and the Z.Buds. Both seems fairly tasty. I am a bit concerned about one reviewer saying the NE-7Ms sounded a bit harsh. In the same vein, the NE-7M specifically discussed a 24 hour burn in...I wonder if they start off a bit harsh?

I never have fully understood what changes occur in headphones during burn in.

The review of the Z.Buds said the high end was a bit rolled off. For me, that might work better.

I don't get how that reviewer thinks the NE-7Ms are harsh. While they have a nice bass presence the mids are very good too.

I have an iphone 3g paired with Super Fi5 Pro's with A Westone cable. It is a really good match the iphone really pushes them really hard.
