Go figure. This is my first post to the forum, and I'm certainly asking the question that has been asked a thousand times before:

Please recommend a good set of headphone for under $100 US.

My intended uses are:

1. with my bass/amp.
2. with my guitar/amp.
3. with my PC sound card (Soundblaster Audigy Platinum).
4. with my MP3 player (Nomad Jukebox).
5. with my laptop for music and DVD's (Dell 8100).

My only real requirement that I can think of is that I don't want a coiled cord and would prefer one that is at least 10ft/3m in length.

Thanks!!

If it weren't for you requirement of no coiled cord I would reccomend the Sony V6s. Durable, great bass extension, portable (fold and have carrying case). They are what I use for portable/computer listening, and I have lent them to some of my friends to use with their amps (bass and guitar) and they said they worked great. The coiled cord is kinda heavy though.

I may be able to bend on the coiled cord. My experience with them in the past (distant) is that they may be 10 feet in length, but a coiled versus a non-coiled set is a big deal when I'm moving around with my instrument.

Would it work to get the V6's and add a male/female extension cable to it? How would the effect the sound?

Thanks very much for you reply.
