I'm currently using my computer as souce for my HD 590s (using a SB Audigy 2 soundcard) and although it has a very good sound and the 590's being so easy to drive I can't help but feel that it is struggling to get the best out of them. I've decided to invest in an amp to help push the 590s a bit more but don't want to spend too much in the process (I'm a poor student

). Can anyone recommend an amp for less than £100 (or maybe a bit over if it's a really good amp) that will compliment the 590s and help get the best out of them? Thanks.

Being in exactly the same position as SizeOfAnOcean having the sen 595s and requiring an amp at this budget I too would appreciate people's thoughts.

I have been told that the little dot II+ would be a good choice but I want to know if this would be the best sub 100 quid amp to pair up.

For that price you can buy a nice Pimeta desktop amp, either from an amp maker or get someone to build one for you.
(for example http://www5.head-fi.org/forums/showt...ghlight=pimeta )
Sorry to only recommend what I own but I have read other posts that this is a good combination. An aggressive op amp balances well with the laid back Senn sound.

Hm, done some more reading and other people seem to say that Senns do in fact work well with the PA2V2. So I'm thinking of getting either a PA2V2 or a Little Dot II+. Bearing in mind that I DON'T need a portable amp (I'll only be listening in my room), which amp should I plump for?

Also, I may upgrade to some HD 650's in a year or so, would either of these amps be able to do them justice?

I just ordered the PA2V2 directly for Gary Ali today. I don't know how it will compliment my HD555 just yet, but I bet that for the price and the courteous service, such an amp can't be beat! A lifetime warranty, can you believe it? No wonder why PA2V2 is widely recommended here...
