I'm trying this mod and am having a hard time getting the foam off. I don't wanna pry at the wrong part and break the headphones. The foam is attached to this plastic ring, is this the thing that I wanna pry off? It seems pretty tight and don't wanna budge. Any help would be great thanks.

I have the HD280 btw.

I sold my 280s a while ago - but I don't remember any foam to pull off.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

I think you misunderstood. You don't mod the earpad. You want to remove the earpad (which includes the foam). Then there are 2 screws on each driver. Behind there is where you want to put the Bue-Tak and foam.

back from the dead eh? I don't remember having to remove any foam when doing this mod, just be BERY careful about the wires as they are only soldered on!
