Got stuck in the office elevator this morning for nearly forty minutes! At one point I admit I had visions of Aerosmith's "Love in an Elevator". But unforunately I was alone, with only my DAP & MX500's to console me (thank goodness!), as the mechanics struggled to figure out how to get me out.

My first time stuck in an elevator, ever. Luckily I'm not claustrophobic, or anything. Hopefully the rest of my week will go better

Happened to me once about 10 or 12 years ago. Also for about 40 minutes. There were people in with me, but nobody really panicked, as we knew they were working on fix mostly the whole time. They finally got the doors open, but I think we had to hop down a foot or so.......

That's why I hate elevators! I understand in a large office building you don't have a choice, but even when I'm delivering pizza I usually head for the stairs. Elevators are for old people, I always say.

Also, in the movies when they get stuck in an elevator, there always seems to be a convenient trap door in the top, well, I always look and I have yet to ride an elevator with an easily accessible trap door.

Ugh, sorry to hear that! I was stuck in my bldg's elevator once for about 15 min, a bit scary since i'm pretty high up and it dropped a bit while they tried to scootch it down to a lower floor's door -eech!

Most elevators I've ridden in have an access door. Usually they are a obscured by the overhead lighting grates or paneling. Sometimes they're locked from the top however.

I don't know if anyone here still remember the blackout happened in 2004 in Eastern section of the United States. Basically new york city and other parts of the country had no electricity for almost a day. It happened about 40 seconds after I stepped out of elevator of our apartment building.
