Hi,

I've had a Creative EP630 as first IEMs for 2 years now, but they recently broke so I'm searching a new IEM for $40. I'm not an audiophile so I dont need superb audio quality, but I want really strong cables because I use them every day on the bus. I was a little bit scared with the bad jackplug and thin cables of the EP630. My favourite music style is every rock type and some blues.
I've been searching for for a few days now and the ones I choose are:
-Radiopaq Custom Tuned:
They seem to suit my needs. It seems that the online shop here has a (new?) version with a special type of cable and they look stronger than some those rubber cables. I dont know how the jackplug is. (see this picture)
I dont know which version that I need but I think I must take the Rock version of the earphones.
-UE MetroFi 170.
They look fine, but I dont know if they are better than the Radiopaq.
Some others I looked for:
-Creative EP830
-Sennheiser CX400
-Denon AH-C351

But I think they are worse than the 2 first.
I hope someone can help me with choosing the right ones. And maybe answer the cable questions of the Radiopaq

Thanks!

Stay away from the Rock if you decide to go with RadioPaqs. FWIR they are inferior to the Jazz/Classical.

And take a look at the Meelectronics M9 or M11. Stellar build quality on both.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. It seems I cant find the Meelectronics here in Europe or the UK.
Why wouldn't the Rock version not be suited for my genres?
I'd think they are better than the Classicals for me.

Meelectronics Earphones Search Results | Overstock.com

Also, e-mail meelec.com about international orders, shipping is $7 afaik.

because the Rocks suck

compared with the Meelectronics, the other Radiapaqs are better and probably easyer to get if your in the eu (you dont actually say where you are)

for the same cost id take the Jazz or Classicals over the M6 or M11

He did say build quality is more important than sound quality and my Jazz and Classical just aren't as impressive build-wise as the two Meelecs.

I'm sure the sound quality of the M9 will be enough for me. Build quality is very important for me. I'll take the new version of the M9's as they have the same cables as the M11 and they are very cheap.
I think the M9's would cost me €30 and the Radiopaq €46, both with shipping. The Meelectronics seems very nice.
Btw; I live in Belgium.

But if I'd take the Radiopaq's, which version I should choose and why?

EDIT:
Is MEELEC.COM the official site of Meelectronics? If I buy the M9's there it would cost me 26.94 with shipping.
Or is overstock.com better than meelec.com ? I didn't check overstock.com prices but I think they would be the same.
I'm almost shure I will buy the M9's as there are not many advantages to the Radiopaqs.
I can't wait!
